Tamedia is considering the sale of Annabelle – Jacqueline Krause-Blouin will take over as Interim Editor-in-Chief

Within the Paid Media division, Tamedia intends to henceforth focus on the core business of publications primarily financed by subscription revenue. Consequently, Tamedia is considering the sale of Annabelle. At the beginning of August, the long-term Deputy Editor-in-Chief Jacqueline Krause-Blouin will take over as Interim Editor-in-Chief of the magazine.

Zurich,  11 July 2019 – Within the scope of the implementation of Tamedia's future holding-like corporate structure with the four business segments Paid Media, Free Media, Advertising Marketing and Marketplaces, the company is planning to focus on the core businesses of these units. For Paid Media, this means concentrating on the publications that are primarily financed by subscription revenue. In view of this, Tamedia has decided to consider a potential sale of Annabelle, a magazine that is heavily dependent on the advertising market.

Christoph Tonini, CEO of Tamedia: “The specific challenges of a traditional magazine such as Annabelle differ fundamentally from those of our paid media. For this reason, we want to assess whether its development possibilities would be better with the backing of a dedicated entrepreneur or another publishing company.” Initial discussions are expected to be held in the coming weeks.
