BT and Metroxpress join forces

Copenhagen, 11 November 2016 – The daily BT and Metroxpress have decided to join forces in a new company, BTMX. By creating BTMX the ambitions are set very high: The new company wants to publish the most read newspapers in Denmark, digitally and on print. BTMX will be a subsidiary company to the Berlingske Media group and the ownership is shared between Berlingske Media (70%) and Metroxpress (30%).

Managing Director of the company will be Thomas Raun, presently the CEO of Metroxpress. Raun will also enter Berlingske Media's executive management team. As for the near future, the two brands will continue as known today but now with the new opportunity to create much better products from a strong shared newsroom.

"With this step, we are bringing together two strong media brands in Denmark," says Marcel Kohler, head of the 20 Minuten division at the Swiss media group Tamedia. "Together, we will be able to publish the largest newspapers in Denmark and significantly expand our digital offer."
