Tamedia offers new Intent Targeting for Advertising Clients

Zurich, 16 February 2016 – The Swiss media group Tamedia is offering an instrument for attractive, target-group-specific online marketing with its new intent-based targeting solution. Advertising clients can reach customized target groups with significantly less wasted coverage thanks to the new offer within the Premium Publisher Network (PPN). The Premium Publisher Network (PPN) belonging to Tamedia includes approx. 30 high-coverage websites such as 20 Minuten, Tages-Anzeiger, Le Matin, Tutti.ch, Ricardo.ch and Homegate.ch and reaches more than 80 percent of Swiss online users monthly.

 

If a user is interested in new cars on the marketplace autoricardo.ch belonging to Tamedia, a digital marker is set. If the same user then visits another platform in the Premium Publisher Network, thematically-related products such as new cars are displayed, for example. As a result, advertising clients can reach a maximum range within the target group. The users of Tamedia websites receive tailored promotional offers more in line with their needs at the same time. In a first step, the intent targeting offer from Tamedia  includes the buying interest categories of automotive, real estate, consumer electronics, home & living, parents & family and sports as well as additional automotive and real estate categories.

 

“Intent targeting helps our advertising customers to address their target groups in our network better. At the same time, our users benefit from advertising that matches their interests,” said Marcel Kohler, Member of the Management Board of Tamedia and responsible for the entire advertising market of the Swiss media group starting from 2017.

 

The targeting offer from Tamedia will be developed over the next few months with different intent or audience targeting, via which target groups can be reached by socio-demographically defined criteria. To enable this new advertising offer, Tamedia's own data sources (autoricardo.ch, tutti.ch, homegate.ch, ricardo.ch, etc.) are being tapped by a data management platform.
