NZZ Group, Tamedia and Swiss Post sign agreements to transfer early delivery services and search.ch

The transfer of early delivery services from media groups NZZ Group and Tamedia to Swiss Post, announced in autumn 2008, is to be implemented. The relevant agreements have been signed by both media groups and Swiss Post in the last few days and the transactions have been registered with the Federal Competition Commission.

Following approval from the Competition Commission, a strong early delivery organisation is to be established for German-speaking Switzerland under the management of Swiss Post. NZZ Group and Tamedia will retain a 12.5 per cent share in the business. At the same time as the transfer of the early delivery service, Tamedia plans to take over a majority share in the Internet portal search.ch. As a result, the three companies will be in a better position to concentrate on their core business.
