Stefan Riedel named new CEO of Starticket

Following the merger with ticketportal, Starticket is reorganizing. Effective immediately, Stefan Riedel will take over the management of the company. He previously held various positions at Salt Mobile and brings many years of experience in business development, strategy, process optimisation, and marketing. Frank Schwegler as Chief Commercial Officer and Pascal Zürcher as Chief Sales Officer will continue to be the primary contacts of the event organisers. Other members of the Starticket business management include Ken Frank as Chief Operations Officer, Thomas Baumberger as Chief Marketing Officer, Jens Schubert as Chief Technology Officer and Regina Gehr as Head of Services.

 

Zurich, 4 July 2016 – Effective immediately, Stefan Riedel will take over the management of Starticket AG. From 2004 on, Riedel (46) held various positions at Orange and at Salt Mobile after the rebranding. Most recently, he was the latter's Director of Consumer Marketing. During the rebranding from Orange to Salt, he was responsible for the marketing strategy and product development, among other duties. As Deputy to the Chief Commercial Officer he held joint responsibility for the strategic and operational management of the B2C business. Stefan Riedel studied mechanical engineering in Regensburg and obtained an MBA from IMD Lausanne.

Stefan Riedel is succeeding founder and CEO Peter Hürlimann who will continue to serve on the Board of Directors of Starticket. «In the future, I will focus in particular on the strategic development of Starticket. I am convinced that we have found an optimal successor in Stefan Riedel and a good fit for the team. I look forward to working with him,» said Peter Hürlimann.

Starticket strengthens the management
Frank Schwegler as Chief Commercial Officer and Pascal Zürcher as Chief Sales Officer are responsible for sales, key account management, partnerships, affiliations, and the B2B marketing of Starticket. Pascal Zürcher, who joined the company from ticketportal, has extensive experience in the B2B business. Frank Schwegler will continue to be responsible for the business development and at the same time, work closely with the operational management of the advertising market of the Swiss media group Tamedia. Jens Schubert will assume the function of Chief Technology Officer and be responsible for the company's overall IT infrastructure. In addition to the team in St. Gallen and Zurich, he will oversee a development team in Salzburg. Thomas Baumberger continues to head the marketing of Starticket and Ken Frank will remain Chief Operations Officer, responsible for promoter management, event services and customer service. Regina Gehr continues to lead the services department.

The Management Board of Tamedia wishes Stefan Riedel good luck in his new position and continued success to all other members of Starticket's management.
