New ideas for Doodle, 20 Minuten and Homegate at HackZurich
Zurich, 5 September 2016 – Within just 10 days, more than 3,500 applications from 58 countries were received for HackZurich ahead of time. Approximately 550 selected specialists qualified for the participation in Europe's biggest hacking competition. Teams of two to four participants will develop a functional application prototype within 40 hours for one of the attending enterprises. Each individual company will assist in defining the thematic framework for the application and on Sunday, the best projects will be recognized by a professional jury.
Joint prototype for 20 Minuten, Homegate and Doodle
Tamedia will be at HackZurich again this year: The technical interfaces with Doodle, 20 Minuten and Homegate will be released to the participants. The purpose of the job is to link the interfaces of at least two of the three companies to develop an innovative application with added value. “Taking part in HackZurich opens an important door for us and allows us to access the development community and exciting ideas. At the same time, it stimulates the interaction between the Tamedia teams and this is what we would like to build on”, explained Christoph Brand, Head of Tamedia Digital. Homegate already attended HackZurich last year. With the API of Homegate, 11 developer teams created some very interesting and innovative prototypes.
